Author, journalist, broadcaster and speaker. Retired from television in 2000 and from Radio in 2015. Was the inspiration for Ron Burgundy in Will Ferrell’s two movie spoofs, Anchorman and Anchorman II. Worked as a national correspondent for ABC in the 1960s, And anchored local TV programs in Philadelphia, Chicago, and for 20 years in Detroit. Also served as a national correspondent for the Washington Post television division. For five years, vacation back up for Paul Harvey. Author of eight books masters degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Six Emmys, five honorary doctorate, and inductee into three journalism halls of fame.
