We Walked the Florida RV SuperShow So You Don’t Have To, Here’s What's Standing Out So Far

We Walked the Florida RV SuperShow So You Don’t Have To, Here’s What's Standing Out So Far

Every January, Tampa turns into the RV version of a Black Friday stampede, except the shoppers are wearing cargo shorts, carrying coffee the size of a propane tank, and saying things like, “Honey, this one has a REAL door.” Welcome to the 2026 Florida RV SuperShow at the Florida State Fairgrounds, aka the place where dreams are measured in feet, slides, and monthly payments.

If you have never been, picture this: hundreds and hundreds of RVs spread across the fairgrounds, plus a small city of vendor booths with every gadget you did not know you needed until a stranger demonstrates it with the confidence of a late-night infomercial host. The show regularly pulls massive crowds, and the organizers highlight more than 450 vendor booths, with everything from solar and lithium upgrades to connectivity gear and safety products.

Now, what are people buzzing about this year?

First, power is having a moment. Not “horsepower” (though there is plenty of that), more like “how long can I run my life without hearing a generator ever again?” The SuperShow seminars and show coverage are packed with lithium, solar integration, and smarter electrical setups because more RVers want to boondock longer and stay comfortable doing it.

Second, innovation is getting weird in the best way, especially in the van and small motorhome space. Leisure Travel Vans is leaning hard into flexible living space with its all-new Unity TBX, built around a floorplan designed for versatility. We're talking forward-facing travel seats that can be turned to side-facing. It also has a huge pass-through storage cargo area, bigger than anything we've ever seen on a B+ van.

But for pure innovation, you need to see the front seating that can do a “flip and face each other” thing that makes you feel like you are hosting a tiny talk show in the desert.

Third, electrification is no longer just talk. The Pebble Flow is one of the flashiest examples, an all-electric trailer concept that keeps showing up in RV conversations because it is built around a big battery, integrated solar, and a dual-motor “Active Tow Assist” approach. Pebble even says you do not need a truck to tow it, because the assist system is designed to work with gas, hybrid, or EV tow vehicles, as long as you have enough towing capacity.

They towed it out here from California with a medium-sized SUV.

Coolest thing about the Pebble: From a tablet, you can move it around and have it automatically position itself to hook up to the tow vehicle.

Fourth, affordability is creeping back into the chat, especially for fifth wheels.  Sort of.  Keystone RV is expanding the Coleman lineup into fifth wheels for the first time, aiming at couples who want a more compact footprint and value-forward layouts. In other words, “fifth wheel life” without needing to sell a kidney or buy a dually that doubles as your retirement plan. We found them surprisingly comfortable.

Now for the best part, the human side of the show, because an RV SuperShow is not just rigs and gadgets, it is people.

Jennifer and I are there in full “work mode,” which looks exactly like normal mode except we carry more batteries, more camera gear, and slightly more optimism than is medically recommended. We are joined by Wendy, because every operation needs that one person who can solve three problems at once while the rest of us are trying to remember we left the wireless microphone.

We are shooting a whole series of walkthrough rig tours for our YouTube RV Lifestyle Channel, the kind where you smile politely while stepping around shoes, brochures, and someone’s emotional support cooler. We are hunting for clever layouts, practical storage, and those “Wait, they put THAT there?” features that make a rig feel genuinely livable. We'll roll them out over the next few weeks, starting Saturday.

And yes, we are doing three meet-and-greets, plus a special gathering with our Community members, which is always the highlight for us. You can walk through a thousand RVs, but nothing beats swapping stories with people who actually live this lifestyle, and who understand why we get excited about things like a perfectly placed trash can, or a shower that does not require Olympic-level flexibility.

We've talked to so many people. And our industry sources - from manufacturers, dealers, vendors and more than a few disgruntled people linking dirt on their competitors, we have heard some juicy stories. Tune in to the Monday News Edition of the RV Podcast and we'll share some.

Also, if you are feeling inspired by all the RV eye candy on display at this big show but wondering how to turn the dream into trips that actually work, I’ll be hosting a live, interactive RV Travel Planning Workshop on February 5. We’ll cover how to plan smarter routes, choose the right campgrounds, avoid common travel mistakes, and build trips that fit your style and your budget. Details and registration info are available now, at RVPodcast.com/workshop and I’d love to have you join us. It is free if you are already a member of RVCommunity.com, $10 if you are not.

So if you spot us at the Florida RV SuperShow, come say hi. We will be here through Sunday and be the ones moving fast, laughing a lot, and trying very hard not to bring home “one small accessory” that somehow requires its own storage bay.
